Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. A big controversy has arisen in Gaurela over the statue of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Late Ajit Jogi. The statue of Ajit Jogi installed at Jyotipur Chowk was surreptitiously removed last night. Surprisingly, neither the Chief Municipal Officer nor the concerned contractor was aware of the removal of the statue. There is a lot of anger among the common citizens about the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the statue was removed in a very disrespectful manner by breaking its legs and thrown at a dirty place near the municipal premises in the darkness of the night. After the information of this incident came to light, anger has spread in the area.
Police station in-charge Navin Borkar has registered an Assamese FIR in the case. The vehicle from which it was removed has been identified from CCTV. Strict action will be taken after registering an FIR in the case. The accused will be taken into custody soon.
