15 Accused Arrested for Gambling in Mangata Forest, Rs. 9.11 Lakh Worth Property Seized in Rajnandgaon

In Rajnandgaon district, police conducted a major raid against gambling and betting activities in the Mangata-Banbaghera forest area. During the raid, 15 people were caught playing gambling with 52-card decks. The police seized assets worth more than Rs. 9.11 lakh from the accused.

 

Station In-Charge Satyanarayan Devangan of Somni Police Station stated that the arrested include Shubham Devangan, Rameshwar Yadav, Dinesh Yadav, Laxman Sahu, Jai Prakash, Shyamu Sonkar, Gupesh Kumar, Sunil Jangde, Uttam Bharti, Mohammad Akhtar, Taju Sheikh, Khemchand Sahu, Ashwini Kumar, Surendra Sahu, and Deepak Rajput from Basantpur.

The police confiscated Rs. 47,300 cash, 52-card decks, 2 keypad mobiles, 8 Android mobiles, and 17 two-wheelers from the gambling den. Legal action under the Gambling Prohibition Act has been initiated against all arrested persons.

This operation was conducted jointly by the Somni Police Station, Kotwali Police Station, Chikhli Outpost, and Rajnandgaon Police Line teams. Police administration stated that such actions against illegal gambling will continue strictly to keep criminals under close watch.
