The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has intensified its crackdown on adulterated dairy products in Raipur, seizing 1,700 kilograms of paneer found stored in unhygienic conditions. Samples of the seized paneer have been sent to a laboratory for analysis, officials said.

The action was carried out under the directions of FDA Controller Deepak Kumar Agrawal (IAS), as part of an ongoing campaign against substandard sweets, paneer, and khoya across Raipur district. As part of the drive, dairy shops and paneer manufacturing units are being inspected on a regular basis.

On January 7, 2026, a team of food safety officials led by Vinod Kumar Gupta inspected M/s K.L.P. Dairy and Milk Products located in Bhatagaon. During the inspection, the team found paneer being manufactured and stored in extremely unhygienic and unsafe conditions.

Officials seized 1,700 kg of loose paneer from the premises, valued at approximately ₹4.76 lakh. Samples have been collected and dispatched to the laboratory for quality testing. Meanwhile, the dairy unit has been served an improvement notice, directing it to rectify the shortcomings identified during the inspection.

The Food Department stated that inspections of dairy outlets and paneer manufacturing units will continue as part of the sustained enforcement drive.
