Killer Father Sentenced to Life; Verdict Delivered Within 7 Months

In a swift trial, the court sentenced a father to life imprisonment for murder, delivering the verdict just seven months after the challan was filed, marking a rare instance of speedy justice.

The ADJ court has sentenced the father, who murdered his son with a sharp weapon over a minor dispute, to life imprisonment. The court pronounced its verdict within just 7 months after the challan was presented.

The case is of Gaurela police station, where last August, father Rajendra Sathe alias Raju, a resident of Ward No. 2 Sawantpur, Gaurela, attacked his son Dinkar Rao with a knife over a minor dispute, due to which he died on the spot. Gaurela police registered a crime under section 103 A BNS, arrested the accused and presented the challan in the court.

Hearing the case, Second Additional Sessions Judge Pendra Road Ekta Agarwal, while giving the verdict within just seven months, found Rajendra Sathe alias Raju guilty in the case and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of five hundred rupees. The case was pleaded by Additional Public Prosecutor Kaushal Singh.
