Raipur Skywalk Project Finally Back on Track

After remaining incomplete for 8 years, the Raipur Skywalk Project is set to resume construction within a week. Authorities have confirmed renewed efforts to finish the long-stalled project aimed at easing pedestrian movement in the city’s busy areas.

Raipur Skywalk Project: Raipur. The construction work of the incomplete skywalk (foot overbridge) between Shastri Chowk to Jayastambh Chowk and Ambedkar Hospital Chowk in the capital Raipur will now start within a week. Raipur agency PSAA Construction Private Limited has got the contract to complete the incomplete work of the skywalk. The contract has been signed with the company. The work plan has also been issued. Rs 37.75 crore will be spent on the incomplete skywalk. According to the Public Works Department, the useful part of the skywalk will be constructed first.

This also includes the construction of the rotary at Shastri Chowk. The contractor will have to complete the construction work of the skywalk within the contracted time frame. The contractor has been asked to complete the skywalk construction work in accordance with the previously approved drawing design within the limits of the revised administrative approval received. Rate analysis of all non-SOR items included in the tender and approval from the competent level as per the departmental rules is being ensured. The contracted work will be executed and supervised as per departmental norms and special attention will be paid to quality.
