Tragic Accident: Two Labourers Sleeping on Tracks Killed by Train

Exhausted after a day's work, two labourers fell asleep on railway tracks and were fatally struck by a passing train. The heartbreaking incident highlights the harsh realities faced by daily wage workers.

 
 

A tragic accident has happened in Balod, Chhattisgarh. 2 labourers who had come to Dallirajhara from Jharkhand to work died after being hit by a train. 2 labourers were injured in the accident. The accident happened on Dallirajhara-Kusumkasa railway line.

According to the information, 11 youths who had come to work from Jharkhand were walking on the railway line from Dallirajhara to Kusumkasa. Due to exhaustion on the way, five labourers sat on the railway track. During this time, the youths fell asleep. When the train arrived at around 4 am, four youths were hit by the train as soon as they could get up from the track, out of which two died on the spot, while two were injured, who were taken to the hospital with the help of 108 ambulance.

All the 11 youths are said to be residents of Jharkhand, who had come to Dallirajhara area for work. Their other six companions had gone ahead, who narrowly escaped the accident. The incident happened in Dallirajhara police station area. The police reached the spot and started investigation.
