Asia's Largest Jawaharlal Agricultural University Struggles: Student Numbers Drop Sharply
Jabalpur,M.P
Once Asia’s largest and MP’s first, Jawaharlal Agricultural University is now facing a crisis due to government apathy. Victim of policy neglect, the university has seen its student strength fall to less than one-third.
Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University was once called the largest and first university of Asia, but today there is a problem in filling the seats in this university. Talking about the current situation of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University (JNKV), about one third of the students have stopped taking admission here and this figure is increasing year after year, and all this is happening due to the double policy of the Madhya Pradesh government. The situation is such that 20 to 30% of the seats of the university remain vacant, for which the university has done counseling many times to fill them but no result has come.
Actually there are many reasons behind the decreasing number of admissions in Jawaharlal Agricultural University, the first and most important reason of which is the double standard of the government itself. Under which, other private and traditional colleges, even universities, give direct admission to children after 12th without clearing PAT, due to which children are easily taking admission in other universities and colleges and getting degrees without clearing PAT. Whereas in Jawaharlal Agricultural University, after 12th, Pre Agriculture Test is taken which is held in June-July.
The admission process starts after its result comes in August, due to this also there is a very long process of taking admission here, this is also a reason that the interest of students in taking admission here is decreasing.
