Monsoon Grips Entire State, Rain Likely in Many Areas Including Raipur

The southwest monsoon has fully set in over Chhattisgarh. Expect frequent moderate to heavy showers—including in Raipur—through early July.
The weather system is moving forward in Chhattisgarh, due to which the possibility of more rain has increased in the northern areas. Rain is expected in the entire state for the next 5 days. Heavy rain may occur at some places. Today, light to moderate rain and drizzle with thunder and lightning are expected at most places. During this time, the main area of heavy rainfall is likely to be North Chhattisgarh.

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is located in and around Jharkhand. Along with this, the cyclonic circulation of upper air is extended up to 5.8 km height. It is likely to move slowly in the west-northwest direction and move towards Jharkhand. On the other hand, the monsoon trough is located at the mean sea level from Sri Ganganagar, Rohtak, Kanpur, Varanasi, the low pressure center located in Jharkhand, Digha and then towards the south-east to the east-central Bay of Bengal. A trough is extended from north-west Uttar Pradesh to the low pressure center located in Jharkhand at a height of 1.5 km to 3.1 km.

According to meteorologist HP Chandra, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and drizzle with thunder and lightning at most places in the state. At the same time, heavy rain with thunder and lightning may occur at one or two places. The main area of heavy rain is likely to be North Chhattisgarh.
