Bilaspur,C.G
The High Court has taken serious note of the incident where 14 cattle were crushed and inquired whether an FIR was filed against the cow owners for negligence.
The High Court has taken cognizance of the case of 14 cattle being crushed to death by a truck on Tuesday night in Baridih village on Ratanpur Road. On Wednesday, the Chief Justice heard it as a PIL in Special DB. The High Court asked the Advocate General how these incidents will be curbed, the government has taken time to answer, now the next hearing will be on July 30. The hearing is going on on the PIL filed in the High Court on its own cognizance regarding encroachment on the road leading to Apollo Hospital.
Earlier, Rajesh Chikara, Advocate Palash Tiwari and Sanjay Rajak had filed a PIL through Advocate Sunil Otwani. It was said that animals are left open on the main roads and common roads of the city, due to which many times accidents happen. The most dangerous situation is on the National Highway where big accidents have happened due to animals sitting on the roads in the dark. People have also been killed in these, the government has no control. Nothing has been done to stop this either. While hearing the case earlier, the division bench of the Chief Justice had summoned the officers of all the municipal corporations. In the earlier hearing, the High Court had asked about the number of stray cattle and had also directed that the government should arrange for shepherds to remove the cattle and impose penalty on the responsible owners.
