Two Cattle Smugglers Nabbed; Heavy Rains Lead to Waterlogging Across City

Police arrested two cattle smugglers during a crackdown operation. Meanwhile, heavy rains resulted in severe waterlogging in several parts of the city, disrupting daily life.

Revealing a major incident of cattle smuggling in village Kanchanpur under Gharghoda police station area last night, the police arrested two cattle smugglers with 52 cattle. Acting on the information of the organization engaged in cow service, the police arrested the accused and sent them on judicial remand.

According to the information received, on the night of July 25, Gharghoda Dial 112 received information regarding cattle smuggling. Dial 112 staff immediately informed the station in-charge inspector Kumar Gaurav and raided the village Kanchanpur main road. On the spot, two cattle smugglers were caught by the members of Gau-Putra Sena, who were smuggling 52 cattle while keeping them hungry and thirsty, beating them, and cruelly taking them to the slaughterhouse.

The police took the accused Ramsingh Sidar (52) and Sukhsai Sidar (26) into custody from the spot and brought all the cattle safely to the police station. In this regard, on the written complaint by Ghudas Mahant of Gau-Putra Sena, Gharghoda police registered a case against the accused under Section 4, 6, 10, 11 of Chhattisgarh Krishak Pashu Parikshan Act 2004 and Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ramsingh Sidar, son of late Ghasiram Sidar and Sukhsai Sidar, son of Kartik Ram Sidar, both residents of village Katghara Baiskimuda, police station Lalunga. On Saturday, both the accused were produced in the court and sent on remand.
