Kalava Cutting Controversy in Excise Constable Exam Sparks Outrage

A controversy erupted after candidates were allegedly asked to remove *Kalava* (sacred thread) during the Excise Constable exam. Following complaints from Hindu organizations, the Collector has formed a four-member inquiry committee to investigate the incident.

The case of cutting the sacred thread tied on the hands of Hindu candidates and throwing it in the shoes and slippers in the Excise Constable Examination conducted by the Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) on 27 June has gained momentum. On the complaint of Hindu organizations, the district administration has constituted a four-member investigation committee and ordered to submit the report.
The incident took place on 27 June during the Excise Constable Recruitment Examination in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School.

Complainant Aman Yadav and others had alleged that in the Excise Constable examination, the sacred thread tied on the hands of Hindu candidates was cut and thrown in the shoes and slippers. This hurt the sentiments of Sanatan Dharma and religious faith.
