On Tuesday, a case of fighting between local villagers and toll workers has come to light again at Tarpongi toll plaza located on Sankara Simga Six Line of Raipur-Bilaspur National Highway. There have been disputes with local people regarding toll tax here in the past as well. A few days ago, there was a dispute with BJP leaders of Simga. Before that, there was a dispute with Congressmen, then the Congressmen also protested vigorously. Now the dispute that started with an acquaintance of the local hotel operator turned into a fight in some time.
According to the information, the acquaintance of the hotel operator was passing by in his vehicle, when the toll worker hit his car and the dispute started. Which turned into a fight in no time. After the incident, when the villagers reached in support of the vehicle owner, the toll workers left the toll and ran away, due to which there was a long jam on the highway.
TI Rajendra Diwan said that the report of the case has been written by the car owner. On receiving the information, the police also reached the spot and pacified the matter. At the same time, Sarpanch representative Vikas Verma said that tax is always taken from the local villagers or they have to get a pass of three hundred and fifty rupees every month. Unnecessary money is being collected from the villagers by imposing toll in their own village.
