The accused of abetting the suicide of an elderly man in Chakarbhatta, located near the city, has filed a petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR lodged against him. The accused has termed the FIR as malicious. The court has directed to submit the investigation report done by a handwriting expert of the suicide note written by the deceased in the case.
In fact, Nand Kishore Sharma, a resident of Chakarbhatta Camp, committed suicide in his rented house on 24 January 2023. During the investigation, a suicide note left by the deceased was found. It stated that Sharma committed suicide because accused Chandrapratap Tiwari and co-accused Priya Nath Soni were harassing him and instigating him to commit suicide. Accused Chandrapratap had borrowed money from Nand Kishore and he was refusing to return it. On demanding the money back, the accused abused the deceased and threatened to kill him.
