Raipur,C.G
A 4-lane Keshkal bypass will soon be built at a cost of ₹307 crore, aiming to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the region.
To provide relief to the people from the traffic jam at Keshkal Ghat under National Highway No. 30 on Raipur-Jagdalpur road, 11.38 km long Keshkal four-lane bypass will soon be constructed at a cost of Rs 307 crore. After the approval of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, the Public Works Department has intensified preparations to start the construction work. The process of land acquisition for bypass construction is going on. At the same time, trees are being cut by the Forest Department under Keshkal bypass. According to the Public Works Department, the proposed Keshkal bypass road will be 4-lane. Out of its total length of 11.38 km, 6.10 km will pass through hilly area and 5.28 km will pass through flat area.
The proposed Keshkal bypass road will have two large bridges (viaducts), 3 small bridges, 15 small culverts, 2 major junctions, dividers along the entire length of the road and side drainage in the ghat. At present, there are 10 dangerous turns in Keshkal Ghat and the average width of the Ghat is 7 to 9 meters. About 11 thousand vehicles pass through it every day. Due to the narrow width of the road and dangerous turns in the Ghat, it takes a lot of time to travel and traffic jams occur. The proposed Keshkal bypass road will be made 4-lane on the basis of current traffic count, after which the general public will get relief from traffic jams in the Ghat, time will be saved due to increase in the speed of vehicles and along with this, smooth and safe traffic will be available
