HC to Hear Chaitanya Baghel’s Petition Today Challenging ED Arrest

The High Court will hear Chaitanya Baghel’s petition today, in which he has challenged his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.
The petition of Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, will be heard in the Chhattisgarh High Court today. Chaitanya Baghel had filed a petition on August 5 challenging the ED's arrest, which will be heard today in the bench of Justice Arvind Verma.
Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the arrest, which was rejected by the Supreme Court and advised to go to the High Court. After this, Chaitanna Baghel has filed a petition in the High Court.
Let us tell you that the ED had arrested Chaitanya Baghel on his birthday on July 18 by raiding the Baghel residence in Bhilai 3 in the money laundering case related to the Chhattisgarh liquor scam. The court had sent him on 5-day remand for questioning in the case.
After the hearing on July 22, the court sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand till August 4. He was produced in the court again after the remand ended. From where he was again sent to jail on 14 days judicial remand. Now Chaitanya Baghel will be produced in court on August 18.
Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya Baghel have been made accused in the alleged liquor scam of Chhattisgarh. According to the ED, there was a scam of 2100 crores in the state between 2019-22. Chaitanya managed all the money.
