Police have registered an FIR against a pastor on serious charges for allegedly conducting religious conversions during a healing meeting.
In the district's Pathariya police station area, people of the Hindu community were allegedly being lured to convert to Christianity. On the complaint of a Hindu organization, the police have registered a case against the accused pastor under the Religious Conversion Act.
According to information received from the police, Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Sargaon, Pathariya police station, gave a written application and told that on August 24 at 10 am, a healing meeting was organized by gathering people of the Hindu community in Satyam Singh's (Satyam Pastor) house in ward number 01, Lakhanpur, Pathariya.
According to the complaint, Satyam Singh misled the Hindu families present in the meeting by saying that "The gods and goddesses of Hindu religion cannot do anything, they are all useless. Lord Jesus is the only path to welfare, so accept Christianity, this will not cause any problem in life."
As soon as the information about the anti-religious activity was received, the police administration swung into action. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel (IPS), under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Navneet Kaur Chhabra and under the supervision of SDOP Navneet Patil, a case has been registered against the accused Satyam Singh under Section 4 of BNS and Chhattisgarh Religious Freedom Act 1968 under the leadership of Station Incharge Sub Inspector Laxman Khunte.
