₹375 Crore Released for Ayushman Dues, Over ₹750 Crore Still Pending: IMA

Health Minister announced the release of ₹375 crore for pending Ayushman payments, while the IMA claims dues of more than ₹750 crore are still outstanding.
State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal issued a statement saying that the process of payment of pending claims of private hospitals under Ayushman Bharat Yojana has started in the state. With the efforts of the Health Department, the first installment of Rs 375 crore has been released from the amount provisioned for the financial year 2025-26. He informed that with the release of the amount by the Finance Department, the payment of their outstanding claims to private hospitals has started. The Health Minister further said that the government is vigilant towards the interests of the citizens of the state and private hospitals do not need to worry about the amount.
Payment to hospitals has been started from the state government level and soon all the outstanding amount will also be paid. It is noteworthy that the private hospital operators of the state had recently warned not to provide treatment under the scheme from September 1 due to pending payment of Ayushman Yojana. After this warning, many hospitals had also stopped treatment under Ayushman Yojana. The main opposition party Congress had started attacking the state government, calling it a serious issue. According to IMA, private hospitals have to pay more than 750 crores under the Ayushman scheme. IMA had warned to stop treatment under this scheme from September 1 due to non-payment under this scheme for the last 6 months.
