Book Festival Concludes at Mats University

Event organized to celebrate the state’s silver jubilee successfully concluded at Mats University.

 

To commemorate the 25th year of Chhattisgarh state, the Department of Library and Information Science of Mats University organized a grand book festival. The event took place at the Mats University campus in Pandri, Raipur. The festival was inaugurated by the Chancellor of the University, Gajraj Pagaria. The main objective on this occasion was to celebrate the cultural and literary heritage of the state and to promote the habit of reading among students and readers. The program was presided over by Dr. Kalpana Chandrakar, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science.

Various publishers and booksellers participated in the book festival. During this, many books related to the history, art, culture and literature of Chhattisgarh were displayed. Students and literature lovers participated enthusiastically on this occasion.

In his address, the Head of the Department, Dr. Chandrakar, highlighted the 25-year journey of Chhattisgarh and the progress made in the field of education. He said that 'books are a storehouse of knowledge and such festivals give us an opportunity to connect with our roots and get inspired for the future. This book festival was not only a platform for exchanging knowledge, but it was also an important part of celebrating the glorious silver jubilee of the state of Chhattisgarh.

The Chancellor of the institution Gajraj Pagariya, Director General Priyesh Pagariya, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. K.P. Yadav, Vice Chancellor Dr. Deepika Dhand and Registrar Gokulanand Panda praised the program. Heads of departments and teachers of various departments were present in the function. Among the teachers of the department, Assistant Professor Sanjay Shahjeet, Lukesh Kumar Mirche, Omlata Sahu and Assistant Librarian Shashikant Kosare had a special contribution in making the program successful.
