NHM employees will return to work today
NHM employees will return to work today, ending their indefinite strike. NHM employees across the state had been on strike since August 18th over 10-point demands. The strike was called off on Friday after five demands were accepted. Following this, a delegation of NHM employees met with CM Sai.
Public upset by increased electricity bills, this is sponsored loot: Congress
State Congress Communications Department President Sushil Anand Shukla said, "The increased electricity bills are a government-sponsored loot." Due to the BJP government's profiteering policies, the people of Chhattisgarh are forced to purchase expensive electricity.

The average electricity bill per consumer has doubled since the Congress government's rule under the current BJP government. Mr. Shukla stated that the Congress government launched the Electricity Bill Half Scheme for five years to provide relief to electricity consumers, even in adverse circumstances. This scheme benefited 5.4 million domestic consumers in the state, resulting in savings of 40,000 to 50,000 rupees for each consumer over five years. Almost every consumer in the state was covered by the 400-unit Electricity Bill Half scheme introduced by the Congress government.

Sushil Anand Shukla stated that this month's electricity bills have upset the public. On average, every consumer's electricity bill has doubled. There are three reasons for the high electricity bills: the government increased electricity prices and the Electricity Bill Half scheme was discontinued. Smart meters have been installed, which are showing higher readings based on unreasonable consumption, resulting in higher bills.
