Divya from Mahasamund wins gold for India in Malaysia at the Asian Basketball Championship and receives a grand welcome back home.

Divya Rangari, a promising girl from Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh, has brought glory to India internationally. Divya and her team won the 2025 Under-16 Asian Women's Basketball Championship held in Malaysia. Representing India, Divya and her team displayed excellent performance and won the gold medal, marking India's return to the tournament after eight years. This was a moment of pride for Divya and her team. Held in Malaysia from September 13th to 19th, India competed against eight other countries. Divya and her team played with great strength and led India to victory. Divya Rangari, a resident of Mahasamund, was the only player from Chhattisgarh to represent India. After winning the gold medal for India in the FIFA Basketball Championship, Divya returned to Mahasamund to a grand welcome. The entire city, sports lovers, public representatives, social workers, and members of various communities welcomed her at various locations. The sound of music and fireworks echoed throughout the route, along with chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai." Don't panic under any circumstances, fight bravely: Divya People welcomed Divya with garlands and sweets. Everyone met her and wished her a bright future. During this, Divya gave a message to athletes who retreat in the face of adversity, saying that victory is achieved only by persevering and fighting. Divya credited her coach, her parents, and the members of the Basketball Association for her success.

Her family is also proud of Divya's achievement. Father said – Daughter gave me recognition Divya's father said, "People who didn't know me, now recognize me by my daughter's name. What could be more rewarding for a father than this?" The Basketball Association also expressed happiness over Divya's success and promised to create a better platform for every athlete in the future.
