The Balod Forest Department team has achieved a major success. Acting on information about illegal teak wood furniture manufacturing, the Forest Department conducted a raid. A large quantity of furniture and teak wood was seized during the operation. The Dallirajhara Forest Range team is currently investigating the matter.
According to information, Vikas Devangan, son of Devnath Devangan, a resident of Bhaisbod village, was illegally using teak wood to manufacture luxury furniture and other items. He was illegally storing the wood in Ghothia village and manufacturing the furniture. Upon receiving this information, the Dallirajhara Forest Department and the Flying Squad team raided the property using a search warrant. A large quantity of teak wood and furniture were seized during the operation.
Goods and Wood Seized
The Forest Department seized a large quantity of goods during the operation. This includes 36 pieces of teak wood, 8 pieces of teak logs, 1 piece of bija log, 1 dining table set, 1 teak door frame, 2 teak sofas, 1 teak divan, and 2 teak doors. A total of 2.233 cubic meters of teak wood, along with all the machinery used in the furniture manufacturing, were also confiscated.
Dallirajhara Ranger Santosh Thakur stated that the girl and the seized items are worth approximately 2 lakh rupees. The investigation is ongoing, and further action is being taken.
