Light to Moderate Rain Continues in Chhattisgarh; Monsoon to Bid Farewell in 3 Days

The countdown for the departure of the southwest monsoon has begun in Chhattisgarh. According to the Meteorological Department, conditions for the monsoon’s retreat from northern Chhattisgarh are expected to be fully favorable within the next 2 to 3 days. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is likely across the southern and central parts of the state.

Weather Forecast:
Meteorologists have indicated that Raipur may experience rainfall today, which could lead to a drop in temperatures.

Rainfall in the Last 24 Hours:
Over the past 24 hours, several parts of the state recorded rainfall. The heaviest rainfall was in Bhilai (Durg) at 58.6 mm, while Durg recorded a maximum temperature of 32.2°C.

Alerts for Today:
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds (30–40 km/h) in several districts over the next three hours.

· Orange Alert: Moderate rainfall with chances of lightning is expected in Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, and Gariaband.

· Yellow Alert: Light rainfall is forecast in Sukma, Bijapur, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Gariaband, and Durg.

Rainfall Distribution:
According to the Meteorological Department:

· Bhilai: 6 cm

· Tilda: 5 cm

· Makdi: 4 cm

· Darbha, Raipur, Surajpur, Bodri: 3 cm

· Other areas including Bastar, Janjgir, Kawardha, Magarlod, Pipariya, Suhela, and Dharshiva recorded 2 cm or less.
