Newly Formed Sakti District Creates Record in PM Housing Scheme, Rises to 3rd Rank in Chhattisgarh

 

In a remarkable achievement, the newly formed Sakti district has scripted a new chapter of success in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). Defying its recent formation, the district has secured thethird rank in Chhattisgarh   by completing the construction of an impressive30,512 houses   in the 2024-25 financial year.

 

The massive push in 2024-25, where over 30,000 houses were built, showcases a mission-mode approach adopted by the district administration. Ensuring a 'pucca house for every poor family' has been a top priority for the state government. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the scheme has been effectively implemented across all districts of Chhattisgarh.

Teamwork and Public Participation: The Pillars of Success  

Commenting on the achievement, District Panchayat President Draupadi Kirtan Chandra expressed her happiness, stating, "Our priority has been to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach eligible families in a timely and transparent manner. This has been possible only through teamwork and the cooperation of the villagers."

The district Collector emphasized, "The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not just a housing scheme; it is an effort to provide a dignified life to every rural family. Sakti district is making continuous progress in this direction."

Financial Transparency and Swift Implementation  

For the year 2024-25, Sakti district was allocated a target of63,591 houses  , out of which52,913 were approved  . To maintain the pace of construction, the government disbursed financial aid in three installments directly to the beneficiaries.

   Thefirst installment   was provided to 51,427 beneficiaries.

    Thesecond installment   reached 40,318 beneficiaries.

    The third installment   was given to 25,065 beneficiaries.

This timely release of funds was a key driver in accelerating construction and achieving the target within the stipulated timeframe.

Transforming Lives, One Home at a Time  

The PMAY-G scheme has ignited a new ray of hope, infusing respect, safety, and confidence into the lives of poor families in rural areas. With the construction of permanent houses, children now have a better environment for studies, the elderly are protected from harsh weather, and women have found more convenience in managing their households. The scheme has transcended its primary goal, becoming a symbol of social empowerment in rural India.
