9M India Limited under probe for supplying substandard medicines
Raipur,C.G
Investigation has confirmed that 9M India Limited supplied substandard and potentially lethal medicines to government hospitals. CGMSC has issued a notice to the company, initiating further action.
Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSCL) has found serious quality deficiencies in the consignment of Paracetamol 500mg and 650mg tablets supplied by Mahasamund-based 9M India Limited in 2024. This information came to light during an investigation conducted after complaints received by CGMSCL from drug warehouses and health centers.
CGMSCL's report found that some batches had black spots on the medicines and these are not safe for general use. After this, the corporation has directed 9M India Limited to immediately withdraw all the suspicious batches from health centers and drug warehouses and provide new consignments of high quality in their place.
The corporation has also warned that if the company does not follow this instruction, strict action will be taken under the tender rules and the responsibility for this will be entirely of the company.
It is worth noting that even before this action, CGMSCL had banned suspicious drug batches in government hospitals, so that the safety of the patients can be ensured.
