ACB–EOW Crackdown on Mining Businessmen in Chhattisgarh
Digital Desk
In a major anti-corruption operation on Tuesday morning, joint teams of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW) carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to mining businessmen across Raipur, Dhamtari, and Rajnandgaon districts in Chhattisgarh.
In Raipur, officials conducted searches at Wallfort Enclave near Pachpedi Naka, while in Dhamtari, a raid was carried out at the residence of a supplier connected to the mining trade. In Rajnandgaon, teams executed coordinated searches at three locations simultaneously.
According to sources, a convoy of 10 vehicles carrying ACB-EOW officers reached Radha Krishna Agency (Agarwal residence) at Bharat Mata Chowk, Nahata’s residence in Satyam Vihar, and Bhansali’s home in Kamthi Line area.
The raids are reportedly linked to financial irregularities in mining operations, supply contracts, and brokerage transactions. Investigators are examining documents related to the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) — particularly alleged discrepancies and kickbacks in supplies made to government departments under DMF projects.
Officials are currently scrutinizing financial records, bank transactions, and government supply documents. While no official statement has been released so far, sources suggest that key evidence may have been recovered during the searches.
It is worth noting that several senior officials and contractors have previously come under investigation in connection with the DMF scam, and this latest ACB–EOW operation is believed to be an extension of that ongoing probe
