Bastar Police Constable Recruitment Result Declared; 1,592 Youth Selected Across Seven Districts

The results of the Bastar division police constable recruitment examination have been declared, bringing appointments to 1,592 candidates across seven districts. The selection includes 464 women, marking a significant addition to the region’s police force. Naryanpur district recorded the highest number of appointments at 470, while Dantewada registered the lowest with 55 selections.

The recruitment process began after the Police Headquarters in Raipur issued a notification on 4 October 2023. For the 2023–24 cycle, two committees were formed to oversee the recruitment across Bastar Range. Recruitment Centre-1 in Jagdalpur, chaired by SP Shalabh Sinha, handled applications from Sukma, Bijapur, Bastar, and Dantewada. Recruitment Centre-2 in Kondagaon, led by SP Pankaj Chandra, supervised candidates from Narayanpur, Kondagaon, and Kanker.

From 16 November 2024 to 18 January 2025, document verification, physical measurements, and physical efficiency tests were conducted at the 5th Chhattisgarh Armed Force Battalion in Kanger, Jagdalpur, and at the Kondagaon Police Lines. Candidates who cleared the first stage appeared for the written examination administered by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Raipur, on 14 September 2025. The final results were published on 9 December 2025.

District-wise selections include:

  • Narayanpur: 470

  • Bijapur: 337

  • Bastar: 334

  • Sukma: 128

  • Kanker: 125

  • Kondagaon: 103

  • Dantewada: 55

In addition to general constable posts, 91 candidates were selected for positions such as constable (motor vehicle driver) and other trade roles. Officials noted that the inclusion of technically trained personnel will strengthen the police force’s mobility, operational readiness, and technical capability across the Bastar region.

The recruitment is expected to significantly bolster security efforts in an area that has long grappled with insurgency, while offering stable employment opportunities to local youth.
