Bharatmala Project Scam: 4 Probe Teams Summoned on Aug 4 Over Investigation Delay

In the Chhattisgarh Bharatmala Project scam, all four investigation teams have been summoned on August 4 due to delays in the probe. Authorities seek accountability and faster progress in the high-profile case.

After the disclosure of the compensation scam in the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor under the Bharatmala project, Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kanware has summoned all the investigation teams regarding the delay in the investigation of the claims-objections and complaints received regarding land acquisition compensation cases. Many questions have also started arising regarding the delay in the investigation. According to Mahadev Kanware, a meeting of the four teams will be held in the Raipur Divisional Commissioner's office on August 4 to review the progress of the investigation of the claims-objections received in relation to the Bharatmala land acquisition compensation cases. All the teams have been asked to submit the investigation report soon, so that further action can be taken in this matter.

It is worth noting that a month ago, the Raipur Divisional Commissioner had formed four separate teams under the chairmanship of Additional Collectors and asked them to submit the report within a week, but the four teams have not been able to complete the examination of the compensation-related claims-objections within the stipulated time period nor has the investigation report been submitted. The divisional commissioner had formed four separate teams headed by Additional Collector Jyoti Singh, Umashankar Bande, Nidhi Sahu, Indira Devhari to investigate complaints, claims and objections related to the Bharatmala project. It has been told that all the teams have visited the spot and examined the claims and objections and recorded the statements of the applicants.
