Bharatmala Scam Probe: Commissioner to Review Case Late Today; Over 150 Claims-Objections Pending

In the ongoing investigation of the Bharatmala scam, the Commissioner is set to conduct a late review today. More than 150 claims and objections remain unresolved, raising questions about the pace and transparency of the probe.
After the compensation scam in the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor under the Bharatmala Project, the investigation report of claims and complaints received regarding all land acquisition compensation cases has been hanged. The four teams formed by the divisional commissioner have not yet completed their investigation. Whereas within a week, the investigation was to be completed and the report was to be submitted to the government.
Now Raipur Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kavre has called a meeting of four teams in his office on August 4. In the meeting, a detailed review of the claims and complaints received in relation to land acquisition compensation cases will be done.
It has been reported that on the instructions of the state government, the Divisional Commissioner had formed four separate teams under the chairmanship of Additional Collectors a month ago and sought a report within a week, but the compensation claim objections could not be completed within the stipulated time and neither the investigation report has been submitted.
Four different teams were formed under the chairmanship of Additional Collector Jyoti Singh, Umashankar Bande, Nidhi Sahu, Indira Devhari to investigate complaints related to Bharatmala project, claims. Under the Raipur-Visakhapatnam project, a fresh claims were called to investigate the land acquisition compensation scam. In this, more than one hundred and fifty claims and complaints were received.
