Bharatmala Scam: Three Teams Fail to Submit Investigation Report Despite Ultimatum

The ultimatum issued in the Bharatmala scam case proved ineffective as three investigation teams did not submit their reports within the deadline, raising questions on the probe’s progress.

After the compensation scam in Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor under Bharatmala Project came to light, the complete investigation report of the claims-objections and complaints received regarding land acquisition compensation cases has not yet reached the Divisional Commissioner. Whereas Raipur Division Commissioner Mahadev Kavre had asked all the four investigation teams to complete the investigation and submit their report by August 15. After the strict instructions of the Divisional Commissioner, only one team has submitted the investigation report. In view of this, Mr. Kavre will once again call all the four teams today and seek answers and get information about the facts of the investigation report.

According to the Divisional Commissioner, there has already been a lot of delay in submitting the investigation report. Whereas further action can be taken only on the basis of the complete investigation report. In the newly received claims-objections, most of the affected farmers have alleged that they have received less compensation for the acquired land. In such cases, the affected farmers can submit their representation before the court of the Divisional Commissioner. At the same time, the decision regarding complaints of irregularities or irregularities is to be taken by the state government.

It is worth noting that on the instructions of the state government, the divisional commissioner is investigating the land acquisition compensation scam under the Raipur Visakhapatnam project. The divisional commissioner had called for fresh claims and objections in relation to land acquisition compensation cases under the Bharatmala project. More than one hundred and fifty claims and objections and complaints were received in these. A month ago, four separate teams were formed under the chairmanship of Additional Collector Jyoti Singh, Umashankar Bande, Nidhi Sahu, Indira Devhari to investigate the claims and objections and a report was sought within a week, but the investigation report has not come yet. It has been told that the investigation was to be completed within a week and the report was to be submitted to the government. Many questions are also being raised regarding the delay in the investigation report. Action is not being taken against the guilty people in this case.

In Durg division too, the investigation of Bharatmala project is incomplete

In relation to the land acquisition cases for the construction of Durg-Raipur bypass, the investigation of more than 250 claims and objections is incomplete. Many affected landowners have filed applications in the court of the Divisional Commissioner. Here too, most of the affected farmers have complained about receiving less compensation.
