Big fraud in CG: BJP leader's niece caught with fake EWS certificate

A major fraud surfaced in Chhattisgarh after a BJP leader's niece secured a medical seat using a fake EWS certificate. The truth came out during document verification, exposing the scam.

The case of 3 girl students of Bilaspur district getting success in NEET (UG) exam by submitting fake Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate has been revealed. The girls even got MBBS seats in medical colleges with the help of fake certificates. This was revealed when the Commissioner of Medical Education sent the documents of the students to the tehsil for verification after seat allotment. Investigation found that no application or case was ever registered in the tehsil in the name of these girls, yet EWS certificate was issued in their name.

According to the information, the three girl students whose names have come up in this fraud are residents of Bilaspur city itself. One of the students in the fraud, Shreyanshi Gupta, is the niece of BJP leader Satish Gupta. Among those who committed the fraud is Suhani Singh, father Sudhir Kumar Singh, who is a resident of Sipat Road Lingiyadih. Shreyanshi Gupta, father Sunil Gupta Sarkanda and Bhavya Mishra, father Suraj Kumar Mishra, who is a resident of Sarkanda. Now these three students are being linked to the trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar fraud case.

Actually, NEET-UG exam is held every year for admission in medical courses including MBBS. Seats are allotted after counseling on the basis of rank and marks obtained by the students. Under the EWS quota, economically weaker students of general category get 10% reservation. To take advantage of this reservation, the students resorted to fake certificates.

All three students submitted fake EWS certificates in NEET UG exam and medical college admission by claiming that it was issued from Bilaspur tehsil. With the help of this certificate, they participated in medical counseling and grabbed the seat under the reserved quota. Regarding the matter, Bilaspur Tehsildar Garima Singh has clarified that no application was ever filed in the tehsil office in the name of these students. Nor has any certificate ever been issued in the name of these students from the tehsil. The fraud is being investigated from every angle to find out how it happened and who all are involved in it.

SDM Manish Sahu said that the list was sent for verification by the Commissioner of Medical Education. During investigation, it was found that no certificate was issued from the tehsil on the three names. This is fraud and further action will be taken.
