Bolero-Auto Collision in Damoh Claims One Life, 12 Injured; Tragic Accident While Returning from Funeral

A tragic road accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, when a speeding Bolero collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw near the New Damoh PM Awas Colony Road. The impact killed one woman on the spot and left over a dozen others seriously injured

The accident took place around 2 PM under the Dehat police station area. According to reports, the auto was carrying members of the Lodhi community, who were returning to Raja Patna village after attending a funeral in Anu village.

One Dead, Several Injured

Eyewitnesses said the collision was so intense that the auto overturned on the roadside, trapping several passengers underneath. Locals and some injured victims managed to lift the vehicle and rescue those stuck inside.
All the injured were rushed to the district hospital, where chaos prevailed as medical teams treated multiple patients simultaneously.

Three Critically Injured, Shifted to Jabalpur

Among the injured, three women — Chandabai (50), Imratibai (45), and Vinita Bai Lodhi — sustained severe head and body injuries. After initial treatment, they were referred to Jabalpur Medical College due to their critical condition.

Bolero Driver Absconding

The Bolero driver fled the scene after the collision. Police have begun an investigation and are trying to identify the vehicle and the absconding driver. The deceased has been identified as Bati Bai Lodhi, a resident of Raja Patna village.

Villages in Mourning

The news of the accident has cast a gloom over Raja Patna and Anu villages. Family members and locals are in deep shock, mourning the loss of a loved one who had just attended another’s funeral — a double tragedy that has left the community devastated.
