State Bar Council voting today
Raipur. Elections for the State Bar Council are being held after a decade. Voting for the office bearers and executive committee of the Bar Council will be held on Saturday. 105 candidates are contesting the elections. Of those contesting, 16 are from Raipur. Candidates are contacting lawyers to create a favorable environment and appealing for their support. In the State Bar Council elections, each lawyer will have the right to cast a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 25 votes, depending on their preference. The newly elected council will have a five-year term. There is tremendous enthusiasm among lawyers for this election.
AAP protests in support of Wangchuk
Raipur. The Aam Aadmi Party held a peaceful protest by lighting a candlelight vigil against the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk. The protest took place at Ambedkar Chowk on Monday evening. Vijay Jha, State President of the Aam Aadmi Party's Employees' Wing, said, "Sonam Wangchuk worked for years for the identity of Ladakh and the education of children. The government saw Sonam Wangchuk as the biggest obstacle to handing over Ladakh's land to private hands. This is why Sonam Wangchuk was arrested and the NSA was imposed on him." Mihir Kurmi, Punard Nishad, Anusha Joseph, Shiv Sharma, Pawan Saxena, and others attended the protest.
