Mahasamund. Bodies of 4 members of the same family have been found together today in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh. The deceased include husband-wife and their 2 innocent children. The body of Basant Patel (42 years), who lived in his house no. 05 of H-2 building of Government Housing Board Colony, Bagbahara, was found hanging, while the bodies of his wife Bharti Patel (38 years), daughter Sejal Patel (11 years) and son Kiyansh Patel (04 years) were found lying on the floor. On receiving the information, the police team including the SP reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

According to the information, Basant Patel was working as a peon (servant) in the Tribal Welfare Department office in Bagbahara. When his body was found today, the house was locked from inside. It is suspected that Basant Patel poisoned his family and then hanged himself to death. The reason for the incident is unknown at the moment. This incident has created a sensation in the area.

At present, the Bagbahara police have registered a case and are preparing to send the bodies of the four for postmortem. Along with this, they have started investigating the case from all aspects.
