CG Weather Update: Relief from heat, possibility of rain and thunderstorm for next 5 days
Chhattisgarh is currently experiencing a shift in weather patterns, offering some relief from the recent heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for five divisions, including Bastar, forecasting rain and lightning. Bilaspur recently recorded the highest temperature at 41.2°C.
Raipur. The weather of the state is constantly changing due to the effect of seasonal systems. Rain and thunderstorm activities are continuing even in the hot summer month. People are likely to get some relief from the heat in the coming days. Many areas including the capital Raipur received rain with strong winds on Tuesday, after which the humidity has increased. According to the Meteorological Department, rain, thunderstorm and thunderstorm conditions may persist in the southern parts of Chhattisgarh for the next five days.
During the last 24 hours, very light to light rainfall was recorded at one or two places in the state. During this period, the highest maximum temperature of the state was 41.8 degree Celsius in Raipur, while the lowest minimum temperature of 25.3 degree Celsius was recorded in Ambikapur.
Meteorologist HP Chandra said that a western disturbance is located at 73 degrees east and 32 degrees north. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation is active up to a height of 0.9 km over eastern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. From this region, a trough is extended up to a height of 0.9 km up to South Orissa, through Chhattisgarh. At the same time, a north-south trough is extended up to a height of 1.5 km from Western Vidarbha to Kerala. Due to these weather systems, rain and strong winds are continuing.
There is a possibility of light rain or drizzle with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the state today. Also, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. At the same time, the process of slight increase in maximum temperature is likely to continue.
Alert of rain and strong winds in many districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding strong winds and rain in many districts of Chhattisgarh. There is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at the speed of 40–60 km per hour and rain in Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Rajnandgaon, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Jashpur, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham and Mungeli. Orange alert has been issued in these areas.
Apart from this, Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Mungeli, Surguja, Surajpur, Korea and Balrampur are also likely to receive rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds blowing at a speed of 30–40 kmph. A yellow alert has been issued in these areas.
