Chhattisgarh Mahatari Statue Vandalized in Raipur, CM Vows Strict Action Against Culprits

Tension gripped the capital city of Raipur after the revered Chhattisgarh Mahatari statue at the VIP Chowk was vandalized by unidentified miscreants. The incident, which occurred recently, has sparked widespread anger and protests among locals, leading to a heightened police presence in the area.
According to reports, the statue was found damaged, prompting a swift response from police and municipal authorities. As news of the vandalism spread, members of the Chhattisgarhiya Kranti Sena gathered at the site, staging protests and raising slogans. The sudden demonstration led to traffic disruptions in the area for some time.
The Telibandha police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from cameras installed nearby to identify the individuals responsible for the act.
Reacting strongly to the incident, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that such an act is an attack on the identity and pride of Chhattisgarh. "This kind of act is an attack on the self-respect of Chhattisgarh. The culprits will not be spared," CM Sai asserted. He confirmed that a complaint has been filed and legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
Meanwhile, the Raipur Municipal Corporation has begun temporary repair work on the damaged statue. Security has also been intensified in and around the VIP Chowk area to prevent any further untoward incidents. The state administration is closely monitoring the situation to ensure peace and order in the city.
