 In a shocking incident that sent ripples of fear across Condagaon district, police have made a breakthrough in the brutal beheading of a man whose body was found in a forest in Chanabharri village on December 6, 2025. The victim, identified as Lachhinder Pandey, a resident of Baragaon village, was killed in a savage manner, with his head severed from the body.

Investigation and arrests
The police investigation revealed that the murder stemmed from a minor dispute. Acting swiftly, the Vishrampuri police, in coordination with the Cyber Cell, arrested the main accused Shyamlal Netam on December 8. His younger brother, Ramu Netam, 24, resident of Kurrubhat, Vishrampuri, had been on the run until his capture on December 24, 2025, in Khairbharri village, Dhamtari district.

During interrogation, Ramu Netam confessed to carrying out the murder alongside his elder brother. Both accused were presented in court, and Ramu Netam was sent to jail on judicial remand. Senior police officials confirmed that strict action will continue in the district to maintain law and order.
