In a significant boost for higher education in tribal and remote regions, the Chhattisgarh government's Higher Education Department has approved the establishment of four new government colleges in Jashpur and Bastar districts. This initiative, part of the 2025-26 budget, will create 132 new job opportunities for the region.
The new colleges will be established in Farsabahar (Jashpur), Kardega (Jashpur), Nagarnar (Bastar), and Kilepal (Bastar). This move, championed by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, aims to decentralize quality education, ensuring that students from geographically isolated and tribal-majority areas no longer have to travel long distances to pursue undergraduate studies.
Vacancy Breakdown: A Mix of Teaching and Non-Teaching Posts
The recruitment drive will fill a total of 132 positions across various roles, including:
Teaching & Senior Posts: 04 Principals, 48 Assistant Professors.
Support Staff: 04 Librarians (Granthpal), 04 Sports Officers.
Technical & Administrative Staff: 20 Lab Technicians, 04 Assistant Grade-1, and others.
General Staff: 08 Peons (Bhritya), 04 Book Lifters, 04 Sanitation Workers (Swachchhak), and 04 Chowkidars.
This expansion is particularly transformative for students in areas like Farsabahar and Kardega. For years, students, especially women, had to commute to towns like Tapkara or Bagbahara for college. The new institutions will provide a safe and accessible educational environment right at their doorstep, fostering greater enrollment and empowering local youth.
The Chhattisgarh government reaffirms that strengthening the education infrastructure is foundational to the state's holistic development. This recruitment not only opens career avenues for job seekers but also marks a pivotal step in making quality higher education inclusive and accessible across all regions of Chhattisgarh.
