Chhattisgarh's Under-16 team delivered a stellar performance in the BCCI-organized Men's Vijay Merchant Trophy, earning a hard-fought entry into the knockout rounds. The multi-day match against Rajasthan, played in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), ended in an exciting draw after intense battles.
Trailing in the first innings put Chhattisgarh under pressure, but Anshuman Thakur stepped up in the second innings with a patient and resolute century, scoring 104 runs. He was well-supported by Chandransh Yadav (58 runs) and Ujjwal Markam (29 runs).
Thanks to these contributions, Chhattisgarh posted 282 runs in their second innings across 103.4 overs, losing all wickets but successfully forcing the match to a draw and securing their position.
