Raipur (CG)
Chhattisgarh heatwave may push temperatures above 42°C in coming days as weather stays dry and heat intensifies across the state.
Chhattisgarh Weather Update: Chhattisgarh is set to witness a significant rise in temperature over the coming days, with weather experts predicting a sharp increase in heat levels across multiple regions. The state is likely to experience hot and dry conditions as summer intensifies.
Temperature May Rise by Up to 5 Degrees
The meteorological department has forecast an increase of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures over the next four days. This rise is expected to push daytime heat to uncomfortable levels, especially in central and northern districts of the state.
Several Areas May Cross 42°C Mark
From April 13 onwards, districts under Bilaspur, Raipur, and Durg divisions may record temperatures exceeding 42°C. Such conditions may lead to heatwave-like stress, increasing health risks for residents, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Recent Weather Observations Across the State
Despite the upcoming heat, some parts of Chhattisgarh experienced light rainfall in the past 24 hours. Rajnandgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 39.5°C, indicating already rising heat levels. On the other hand, Ambikapur remained relatively cooler with a minimum temperature of 15.8°C.
Dry Weather Likely for the Next Two Days
Weather officials have confirmed that the state will continue to experience dry conditions for at least the next two days. No rainfall is expected, and clear skies will further contribute to rising daytime temperatures.
Raipur Weather Outlook
In the capital city Raipur, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear. The maximum temperature may reach around 38°C, while the minimum is likely to stay near 25°C. Although no official weather warning has been issued, residents are advised to remain cautious due to increasing heat intensity.
