Class 10 Student Missing in Bilaspur for 12 Days; Scooty Found Near Railway Station

A Class 10 student from Bilaspur has been missing for the past 12 days, leaving his family devastated and searching for answers. Seventeen-year-old Vinay Nayak, who left home on 15 November saying he was heading to school, has not returned since. His phone has remained switched off, and his scooty was later found abandoned near the railway station.

The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Torwa police station.

Vinay, a student of Holy Cross School in Lalkhadan, left home around 9 a.m. on the day of the school’s Parents-Teacher Meeting—a meeting his father, Mahesh Nayak, had attended. However, Vinay never reached school. His father called him around 9:45 a.m., and after that brief conversation, the phone went off. That was the last time anyone heard from him.

Worried relatives searched for him across the city. Their efforts led them to the railway station, where Vinay’s scooty was found parked, but there was no sign of the boy. The family fears he may have boarded a train or may have been lured away by someone.

Mahesh reported the matter to Torwa police the next day, but he alleges that officers did not take the case seriously, forcing the family to repeatedly visit the station and, eventually, the Superintendent of Police’s office. On Monday, the distraught family met SSP Rajneesh Singh, seeking urgent intervention.

Meanwhile, they have plastered posters, circulated his photos on social media, and reached out to acquaintances in hopes of finding a clue.

SSP Singh has assured the family that every effort will be made to trace the missing teenager. However, with nearly two weeks gone and no leads, the family fears the worst and continues to wander from place to place, desperate for any information about their son.
