Before the return of the monsoon in Chhattisgarh, clouds have once again covered the state, but rainfall is gradually slowing down in the northern regions. The Meteorological Department has indicated that in the coming days, rainfall intensity may decrease in the northern parts of the state, while some southern areas may continue to experience light showers.
Weakening system, rainfall to decrease in the north
According to the Raipur Meteorological Center, the active monsoon system in northern Chhattisgarh is weakening. While clouds will remain over districts like Surguja, Korea, Jashpur, and Balrampur, chances of heavy rainfall are low. Meanwhile, light showers and occasional thunder and lightning are expected in southern districts such as Bastar and Sukma.
Cloudy day and light rain possible in the capital
In Raipur, skies will remain cloudy on Friday. The Meteorological Department has stated that light rain or thunderstorms may occur in some areas during the day. Temperatures are expected to range between 24°C and 32°C.

Other areas including Pipariya, Konta, Mahasamund, and Manora also received approximately 4 cm of rain. Raipur, Bhanpur, Pasan, Belghan, and Sukma recorded around 3 cm of rainfall.
Slight drop in temperature
Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded in Durg was 32.6°C, while the minimum in Ambikapur was 19.6°C. Weather experts predict that temperatures may drop further over the next few days, bringing cool mornings and evenings.
Current synoptic situation
The retreating southwest monsoon line currently extends from Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, and Shahjahanpur up to 30°N/81°E. Additionally, a trough stretches from southern Odisha to the Comorin region of Tamil Nadu, causing light rainfall. An upper air cyclonic circulation is also active at approximately 3.1 km altitude over the Comorin region.
Next five days: light rain likely to continue
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and thunderstorms may continue in many parts of the state over the next five days. However, rainfall in northern districts is expected to decrease, and the weather will remain partly dry
