CM Sai Awards ₹2 Lakh to Meritorious Students, Announces ₹50 Lakh Aid for Workers’ Children Pursuing Foreign Education

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a major boost to the state's labour families and their children by unveiling education incentives and direct financial transfers at an event held in Raipur. Speaking at the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana program, the CM emphasized his government’s commitment to empowering workers and their families through education and economic support.
₹2 Lakh Aid to Meritorious Students
During the event, 31 meritorious children from registered construction worker families who ranked in the top 10 positions in Class 10 and 12 board exams were awarded ₹2 lakh each as part of the Noni Babu education scheme. The funds were transferred directly into their bank accounts.
₹50 Lakh for Overseas Education
Highlighting a progressive move, CM Sai announced that children of labourers aspiring to study abroad can now receive up to ₹50 lakh in government assistance. “We are fully committed to uplifting our labour families. If a child from a worker's family wants to pursue education overseas, they will have our support,” he declared.
₹19.71 Crore Transferred to Over 38,000 Workers
CM Sai also oversaw the transfer of over ₹19.71 crore in aid to 38,200 registered construction workers, under various welfare schemes administered by the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Push for Youth Employment and Industry Growth
Referring to job creation, CM Sai stated that policies are being drafted with innovation to generate maximum employment. The state has already received investment proposals exceeding ₹5 lakh crore, which are expected to bring in large-scale employment opportunities for youth.
Historic Labour Reforms Under Modi Government
Recalling his time as Union Minister of State for Labour, CM Sai said, “We introduced several historical pension reforms for workers and ensured a minimum pension. The unclaimed ₹27,000 crore in PF accounts was allocated for workers' welfare under PM Modi's direction.” He also credited his tenure for the Universal PF Number, which simplified the withdrawal process for workers.
Labour Minister: State Moving Towards Holistic Growth
Industry Minister Lakhun Lal Devangan highlighted that Chhattisgarh is progressing in all directions under CM Sai’s leadership. He noted that in just 1.5 years, the government fulfilled all promises made under “Modi Ki Guarantee.”
He added that ₹62 lakh was granted to meritorious students and ₹19.71 crore to workers during the event. He also shared updates on the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana, which currently provides full meals at just ₹5 across 46 centres in 17 districts, with plans for expansion.
31 Welfare Schemes for Workers
Dr. Ram Pratap Singh, Chairperson of the Welfare Board, informed that 31 welfare schemes are being implemented across the state, including Noni Empowerment, Mahtari Jatan, and Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana. The Board serves 29.47 lakh registered workers, offering them access to healthcare, education, and economic assistance.
