Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai is set to visit Surguja district today, where he will take part in a major farmers’ conference and inaugurate a series of development initiatives worth ₹281 crore. The visit is expected to highlight the state government’s focus on agriculture and infrastructure development in the region.
Farmers’ Conference in Lundra
The Chief Minister will begin his visit at Lundra block headquarters, where he will attend the farmers’ conference as the chief guest. The event is scheduled to take place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Mini Stadium from 12 noon onwards. Several senior leaders, including Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and other cabinet ministers, along with local MPs and MLAs, will also be present at the gathering.
The conference aims to connect directly with farmers, address their concerns, and outline ongoing and future agricultural policies. It is expected to witness significant participation from local farmers and beneficiaries of government schemes.
Launch of Development Projects Worth ₹281 Crore
During his visit to Lundra, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate a total of 51 development works with a combined cost of ₹281 crore. These projects span multiple sectors and are aimed at boosting infrastructure and improving public services in the region.
The inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony will also take place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium. Officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed for the smooth execution of the program.
Preparations Reviewed by Officials
On Wednesday, Lundra MLA Prabodh Minj, along with District Collector Ajit Vasant and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Agrawal, conducted a detailed inspection of the event venue. They reviewed arrangements related to stage setup, seating, green rooms, parking, route planning, and distribution of benefits to eligible recipients.
The inspection ensured that logistical and security measures are in place ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival.
Statue Unveiling in Ambikapur
After concluding the Lundra program, CM Sai will travel by helicopter to Ambikapur, where he will unveil statues of former MLA Pandit Ravishankar Tripathi and freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad.
Pandit Ravishankar Tripathi was the first MLA of the Bhatgaon constituency formed in 2008. The statues have been installed by the Municipal Corporation to honor their contributions.
Following the unveiling ceremony, the Chief Minister will depart from Ambikapur and return to Raipur.
