CM to review governance priorities on New Year’s Day; key meeting with top officials in Raipur

On the first day of the New Year, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is set to hold a high-level review meeting with senior government officials to assess governance priorities and the implementation of state योजनाओं. The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 am on January 1 at the newly constructed auditorium on the fifth floor of the state secretariat, Mantralaya.

According to information issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the meeting will be attended by all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, along with heads of departments, directors and managing directors of state-run bodies. The discussion will focus on policy priorities, future action plans and measures to strengthen good governance across departments.

Officials said the Chief Minister intends to use the meeting to review the performance of departments over the past year and to clearly outline expectations for 2026. Emphasis will be laid on timely implementation of flagship schemes, inter-departmental coordination and ensuring that government programmes translate into visible benefits on the ground.

The GAD has described the meeting as crucial for making government policies and schemes more effective and result-oriented. A formal request has been issued to all concerned officers to ensure punctual attendance, underlining the importance attached to the deliberations.

Sources in the administration said the Chief Minister is expected to stress accountability and outcome-based governance, particularly in sectors linked to public service delivery. Departments may be asked to present brief updates on progress, challenges and corrective measures required to meet targets within stipulated timelines.

Senior officials believe such annual interactions help bridge gaps between policy formulation and execution. Drawing from past experience, similar meetings held earlier have reportedly led to improved clarity in decision-making and smoother coordination among departments, resulting in better monitoring of schemes.

The meeting is also expected to set the tone for the government’s agenda in the coming year. Discussions will likely include outlining priority sectors, fixing departmental goals and aligning individual work plans with the broader vision of the state government. Administrative reforms, efficient use of resources and faster grievance redressal mechanisms are also expected to feature in the deliberations.

With the new year beginning, the government sees the meeting as an opportunity to energise the administrative machinery and ensure that departments function with renewed focus and efficiency. Officials said the outcomes of the discussions would guide departmental strategies and work schedules in the months ahead.

The Chief Minister’s interaction with senior officers on New Year’s Day is being viewed as a signal of the government’s emphasis on disciplined administration, coordinated planning and effective delivery of public welfare programmes.
