CM Vishnudev Sai Performs Chhaera-Pahara Ritual During Rath Yatra

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, along with his wife, offered prayers to Lord Jagannath and performed the traditional Chhaera-Pahara ritual with full devotion, marking the sacred Rath Yatra celebration.
This year also, Rath Yatra festival was organized with traditional reverence, devotion and grandeur in the historic and ancient Sri Jagannath temple Dokra of Jashpur district. Before the departure of Rath Yatra from the temple, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and his wife Kaushalya Devi Sai prayed to Lord Sri Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra in the Jagannath temple with full rituals and wished for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the people of the state. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai performed the ritual of Chhera-Pahara by sweeping the path of the Rath Yatra with a broom.
Chief Minister Sai participated in the Rath Yatra with devotion along with thousands of devotees. The devotees pulled the chariot of Lord Sri Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra forward by pulling the rope. The entire atmosphere echoed with the chanting of Jai Jagannath, bhajan-kirtan and devotional gaiety. The Rath Yatra reached Mausibari via the main roads. Lord Sri Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra will stay in Mausibari, their aunt's house, for nine days. The auspicious return will take place on the ninth day, July 5, at the Sri Jagannath Temple, Dokra. This event has been organized in accordance with the tradition of Puri Dham in Odisha.
