Collector Lifts Ban on Bore Mining with Onset of Monsoon
Raipur,C.G
With the arrival of the monsoon, the district collector has issued orders to lift the ban on bore mining, allowing related activities to resume under set guidelines.
With the arrival of monsoon in the state, the ban imposed on boring in Raipur district for the last three months has been lifted. Bore digging was banned in Raipur from the beginning of summer i.e. 1st April, due to which permission of the collector had to be taken for bore mining if it was very necessary.
There is a provision of fine and legal action on bore digging without permission. Due to this, private bore digging was stopped in the entire district including the capital. Even the digging done secretly was negligible due to fear of action. The remaining work was completed by the administration-police by taking action on illegal bore digging at many places on receiving information during the ban period.
Now with the arrival of monsoon, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh has issued orders on 1st July to remove the ban imposed under the Chhattisgarh Drinking Water Conservation Act 1986. After this, now people will be able to get boring done by following the prescribed rules. However, the administration has also appealed that if you have a water source available, then you should avoid getting a bore. Because excessive exploitation of groundwater in a limited area has started creating crisis even before the summer.
