Complete Ban on DJ During Navratri & Garba

Authorities have announced a total ban on DJ use throughout the Navratri and Garba festival celebrations.

Regarding Navratri and Garba festival, the district administration made it clear in the meeting of Durga Utsav committees that DJ will be completely banned during this period. The pandal will be constructed at the designated place on the roadside. Instructions have been given to compulsorily install CCTV cameras in all pandals for security purposes. It was also instructed that such idols should not be installed or exhibited which hurt anyone's religious sentiments.

In the meeting, under the instructions of the Supreme Court, it was said that the sound amplifier should be used in low volume and the use of DJ will be completely banned while ensuring compliance with the Noise Act. Durga idol immersion will be done at the designated immersion site in Mahadev Ghat like previous years. Any kind of fire arms will be prohibited during Durga idol immersion. All Durga Utsav committees should keep volunteers for other arrangements including traffic. In the meeting held in the presence of ADM Umashankar Bande and ASP Daulat Ram Porte, instructions were given that it will be mandatory to take permission from the Municipal Corporation for any event. Applications will have to be submitted to the concerned zone office at least seven days before the event. Along with this, it will be necessary to inform after taking permission from the electricity department, fire department and the concerned police station in-charge. It should be ensured that all the necessary equipment for extinguishing fire is available in the pandals. Garba organizers should take special care of the songs and ensure proper parking arrangements at the site. Special care should be taken not to play such music or songs in Garba which does not hurt anyone's religious sentiments.

It was requested to immerse Durga idol from October 2 night to October 4. ASP Dr. Prashant Shukla, SDM Nandkumar Choubey, CSP Ishu Agarwal and senior officials of other departments were present in the meeting.
