In recent political developments in Chhattisgarh, allegations have been raised against Congress leaders for allegedly facilitating the settlement of Bangladeshi immigrants in the state. Opposition parties claim that this action is part of a strategy to alter the demographic composition for electoral advantages. However, Congress has denied these allegations, asserting that they are politically motivated.

Action is being taken against Bangladeshis illegally infiltrating Chhattisgarh. In the last few days, the police have made several arrests. Recently, a Bangladeshi woman was also arrested from Bhilai. At the same time, the police investigation has revealed that people associated with political parties have been involved in saving the Bangladeshis living in Chhattisgarh illegally and with the help of fake documents.

According to a report of Nai Duniya, a Congress leader has been involved in illegally settling Bangladeshis in Raipur. According to the report, former Congress councilor Amit Das is accused of giving certificates of being local residents to the infiltrators on his letterhead. On the basis of which, Bangladeshis got many documents prepared including ration cards and Aadhar cards. This was revealed during the interrogation of three Bangladeshi brothers, Mohammad Smile, Sheikh Akbar and Sheikh Sajan, lodged in jail by the ATS. According to the report, the ATS has also questioned former councilor Amit Das in this matter.
