Diamond Jubilee Run 2025 marks 60 years of BSF in Bhilai

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Border Security Force (BSF), a Diamond Jubilee Run–2025 was organised on Sunday at Jayanti Stadium in Bhilai, drawing enthusiastic participation from hundreds of citizens. The event was held as part of the BSF’s diamond jubilee celebrations and served as a tribute to the force’s role as the nation’s frontline guardian.
Participants from Bhilai and neighbouring districts took part in the run, reflecting strong public support and respect for the security forces. Runners from all age groups, including youth and senior citizens, joined the event, promoting a message of fitness, discipline and patriotism. Along with civilians, officers, jawans and sportspersons from the BSF and other security forces were also present in large numbers.
The event featured two competitive categories a 10-kilometre race for men and a 5-kilometre race for women. The run was flagged off by BSF Deputy Inspector General (PSO) Girdhari Lal Meena, marking the formal start of the competition.
At the concluding ceremony, the chief guest, IPS officer Anand Pratap Singh, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarters (Special Operations), BSF, Chhattisgarh, presented medals and cash prizes to the winners. Addressing the gathering, he said the BSF organises such events annually on its foundation day to encourage sportsmanship, discipline and a sense of national duty among the youth.
Emphasising the importance of physical fitness, IG Singh said staying fit is essential not only for good health but also for improved efficiency, energy levels and mental balance. He urged young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in sports and physical activities.
