Doctor Suspended for Objectionable Post; MCI Demands Report
Shankaracharya Medical College suspends a doctor over an objectionable social media post. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has sought a detailed investigation report from the college administration regarding the incident.
Durg. There is a ruckus over the post made by a doctor (urologist) of Sri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences on social media. After the complaint of the matter to the PMO, the college management has suspended the concerned doctor and issued a show cause notice, while on the other hand the Medical Council of India (MCI) has formed a three-member investigation committee to investigate the matter.
Let us tell you that Dr. Shivendra Singh Tiwari posted in Sri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences had posted an objectionable post in his social media group regarding the political statements going on in India after the Pahalgam attack. Some senior members of IMA took cognizance of this viral post and objected to the Registrar and the college management. In this, the Registrar was asked to summon the doctor's answer through the Ethics Committee.
After this, the college management came into action and on Thursday late evening decided to suspend Dr Shivendra Singh Tiwari for 15 days. Along with this, MCI has directed the medical college management to submit the investigation report, for which a three-member committee has been formed. It is being said that action will be taken against the doctor on the basis of the committee's investigation report.
